ELGYDIUM JUNIOR ICE AGE 7-12 years is a Tutti Frutti flavoured toothpaste designed for children aged 7 to 12. Its fluoride content, suited to children of this age, protects the first permanent teeth against the acid attacks that cause cavities.

Cavities are caused by acids attacking the enamel and dentine, produced when bacteria in dental plaque digest sugars. The production of these acids increases with the sugar concentration in saliva and on the tooth surface.

Sugary foods, including sweets, therefore promote cavities. Because they tend to "stick" to the teeth and their sugars are cleared more slowly by saliva, sweets are a significant risk factor for cavities.

New permanent teeth are coming in, and it's a big moment (and not just for the tooth fairy)! They will be with your child for life, so it is very important to understand now why they need to be well looked after.
